Preparing for New Beginnings,

This place has existed, in one form or another, for longer than its founding date suggests. In attempts at analog journaling, lurker tumblr blogs, and shouting into the void of forums. I've always felt the need to formally collect all my experiences and study materials in one place where other people can easily access it. It was a constant calling- an itch in the back of my mind. Whoever this voice belonged to, I must now repay its patience.

I answer your call.

Yesterday I learnt today was the beginning of the last month of the Attic year. In the southern hemisphere, it's easy to forget the festivals and occasions that often depend on the season. So my Attic year will begin on the Winter Solstice, instead of the Summer Solstice Ancient Athenians anticipated. And with the New Year comes my deadline to really pull this site together.

Mortal Offerings is built to be my personal shrine, journal, and resource library. And I hoped to use any attention I got as motivation to keep it up- unfortunately that's how my executives function.

By the New Year, I want this site to become a place I am happy to show off.

This post is both a record and a promise. I want to improve myself, bring something to my community, and show the gods how much they are cherished.
